GPRO Suite is a bioinformatics project developed and maintained by Biotechvana with the aim of providing integrated and customized solutions for omics data analysis through graphical user interfaces (GUI). Its design combines cross-platform desktop applications with a server-side infrastructure that integrates dependencies, databases, scripts, and third-party command-line software (CLI), allowing users to run, manage, and automate bioinformatics pipelines and workflows based on state-of-the-art technologies.
The tools within GPRO Suite cover different areas of bioinformatics, such as de novo genome and transcriptome characterization, transcriptomic analysis, genotyping and variant studies, sequence annotation and editing, omics data integration, and statistical analysis.
The desktop (client-side) applications are developed in Java and can be installed on major operating systems —Windows, macOS, and Linux—, while the server-side infrastructure can be deployed both in the cloud and on local machines. Thanks to this hybrid approach, GPRO Suite enables users to perform their analyses efficiently, flexibly, and reproducibly, adapting to the needs of each laboratory or project.
The server-side environment of GPRO Suite provides a robust infrastructure to run omics analysis pipelines and workflows either remotely or locally. It includes all necessary components and dependencies —third-party software, databases, and scripts— packaged in a Docker container, which greatly simplifies installation and maintenance.
